Before you draw: the question

Why a good question makes a better reading than a good spread.
How a question is phrased has a big influence on the reading. Closed yes-or-no questions ("Is it going to work out?") tend to give flat answers, because they ask a single card to resolve something that usually has more nuance.
Open, reflective questions — like "what do I need to see about this situation?" or "what attitude should I take toward this?" — tend to give richer readings, because they leave room for the card to offer a perspective instead of a verdict.
Before drawing, it also helps to take a moment: name clearly the situation you have in mind, so you don't end up reading the card in relation to a different question than the one that's actually on your mind.
To put into practice
Go back to the question you thought of in lesson 1 (or use this one: "Is my relationship going to work out?") and rephrase it as an open question.
