How to keep practicing

Lesson 7 of 7 · 4 min

A simple habit for getting to know the deck bit by bit.

The most effective way to learn tarot isn't memorizing all 78 meanings at once, but gradually getting familiar with the cards through practice. A simple habit: every time you draw a card, before reading its "official" meaning, write down in a notebook what the image suggests to you at first glance. Over time, you'll notice your own reading starting to get closer and closer to the traditional one — and in some cases, surpassing it in nuance, because it's yours.

Keeping a record also helps you spot patterns: which cards keep coming up in your life, which questions you keep asking, which spreads turn out to be most useful depending on the moment.

As a recap of the whole course: tarot is a 78-card deck (22 Majors + 56 Minors) that you can read upright or reversed, and that works best with open questions and spreads chosen according to the size of what you want to explore. It's a tool for reflection and entertainment — not an exact method of prediction or a substitute for professional advice on important decisions.

To put into practice

Draw a card at random with the one-card calculator and, before reading its meaning, write down what the image suggests to you.
