Signs / Libra

The Scales · September 23 — October 22
Libra is the only sign represented by an object rather than a living being, and that object — the scales — sums up its nature well: it seeks balance, justice, and harmony in everything it does. It's Cardinal Air, so its way of initiating is through connection with others, dialogue, and building agreements.
Ruled by Venus, it has a highly developed aesthetic sense and a genuine need for beauty and peace around it: ugliness, in any of its forms (physical, relational, moral), feels deeply uncomfortable to it. That's why it avoids direct conflict when it can, preferring diplomacy over confrontation.
Linked to the 7th House — partnerships and alliances — Libra understands that it completes and gets to know itself through the other. That dependence on connection can be its greatest strength (empathy, negotiation skills) and also its biggest blind spot, when it loses sight of what it wants in order to please whoever's in front of it.
Love is central for Libra: it feels more complete in a partnership and puts enormous energy into keeping the relationship harmonious. It needs reciprocity, good treatment, and shared beauty — but it has to learn that a healthy bond also includes disagreement and well-handled conflict.
It performs best in work involving relationships with others: design, law, public relations, mediation, or any field where aesthetic judgment and diplomacy are an asset. It struggles working in total isolation or in constantly conflictive environments.
